FFRC sets up expert workstations in Honghe, Yunnan

In order to further strengthen the technical support for the development of the integrated rice-fishing industry in Honghe County, Yunnan Province, FFRC selected Prof. Xu Gangchun to set up an expert workstation in Honghe County, which is also the only workstation in the field of aquaculture among the 50 expert workstations identified by Yunnan Province this time. On July 13, the awarding ceremony of "Xu Gangchun Expert Scientific Research Workstation" was held in Honghe Zhonghai Fishery Co., Ltd. Luo Zhihui, deputy director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Honghe Prefecture, Kui Guoshi, deputy director of the Employment Bureau, Zhang Jicheng, deputy magistrate of Honghe County, and Yang Hasan, deputy director of the Organization Department, attended the event.

In recent years, FFRC has carried out poverty alleviation work in the Hani terraced rice-fishing integrated farming in Honghe County, established a "rice-loach" and "rice-carp" co-cultivation model, the comprehensive benefits of ecology, society and economy have been significantly improved. The establishment of "Xu Gangchun Workstation" is the recognition and encouragement of Yunnan provincial governments at all levels for the scientific and technological poverty alleviation work of FFRC. The workstation will contribute more to the development of Honghe modern fishery and the protection of Hani terraces.

After the awarding ceremony, ResearcherXu Gangchun led the scientific research team to Honghe County to instruct the standardization techniques of integrated rice-fishing cultivation in terraced fields, and conducted the face-to-face communication with local villagers on how to improve the survival rate of terraced Furui carp and other technical problems, and observed the growth of Furui carp in terraced fields. Associate researcher Yu Tongbing, Associate Researcher Fang Di'an, Associate Researcher Li Jianlin and Assistant Researcher Shao Nailin from FFRC participated in the event.
