Ministerial Workshop on Fishery Planning and Policies for Developing Countries Commences in FFRC

This ministerial workshop , from September 14th to 23rd , will be conducted in forms of seminar, study tour, group work, cultural experiencing, etc., covering the advanced management concepts, experiences and development modes related to fishery and aquaculture planning and policies with Chinese characteristics. There are 37 senior officials from 12 countries participated in this workshop.

The concrete content will involve the basic situation of China, agricultural cooperation between China and other developing countries, development strategies and policies of China’s fishery industry, fishery and aquaculture planning under climate change, sustainable development of aquaculture, fishery environment protection and management, the construction of China’s inspection and quarantine system for aquatic products, the development and practices of improved stock industry in China, etc..

During the workshop, participants will visit management, research and education institutions, technical extension departments and leading fishery enterprises in Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Shanghai city and Beijing city, so that, they could exchange ideas with the managerial staff and experts, and discuss in depth on the potentials for bilateral or multilateral cooperation in fishery. Meanwhile, through getting involved in communities, visiting culture heritages and cities, participants could experience the time-honored traditional Chinese culture as well as China’s achievements since its reform and opening up policy.
