Expert Group of FFRC successfully completed the FAO Project of Innovative Integrated Agri-aquaculture for Blue Growth in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic

On July 28th, 2018, the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (FFRC) has appointed Hu Haiyan, associate researcher, as the team leader of the expert group, Prof. Min Kuanhong, Dr. Xu Gangchun, Dr. Meng Shunlong, Dr. Zhang Chengfeng and Mr.Xu Sheng, etc. to go to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The expert group has successfully completed all the tasks of the “Project of Innovative Integrated Agri-aquaculture for Blue Growth in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic” funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and returned to China.

During the research and technical guidance, the expert group has successively visited the Research Center of Hydrobiology and its breeding base, National Institute of Agriculture and Forestry, National Fisheries Development Center and its seed breeding farms, fish-avian integrated farms, adult fish pond farms and river courses Cage farms, etc. They also exchanged with local fishermen, heads of breeding bases and technicians to get more trading information of aquatic products market, and carried out demand research and technical guidance on relevant fish breeding techniques and aquaculture techniques.
