Expert Group of FFRC successfully completed the Perot Fund Project to assist the Sri Lanka

On July 18th, 2018, the expert group the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (FFRC) has successfully completed all the tasks of the “Production Capacity Improvement of Recirculating Aquaculture in Sri Lanka” project, financed by the Perot Fund of the Ministry of Commerce of China. After they would set off for Myanmar to implement the “Aquaculture Science and Technology Innovation Project for the ‘Belt and Road’ Tropical Nations”.

During the research and technical guidance, the expert group has visited the aquatic products market in Colombo, the engineering aquaculture farm of the GIFT tilapia and the recirculating aquaculture base of prawn, and also exchanged with the local aquatic product distributors, farm owners, responsible and technicians of aquaculture bases on the transactions information of aquatic products market, and conducted demand research and technical guidance on recirculating aquaculture and industrial aquaculture technologies.
