The Documentary of the International Students of FFRC was Launched on CGTN

Recently, under the guidance of the expert group of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, starring international students from Wuxi Fishery College of Nanjing Agricultural University, and filmed by Wuxi Broadcast Television, the documentary "Fish For Future" was broadcast on China Global Television Network (CGTN) during prime time and officially launched on the official website.

Filmed in the context of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the documentary features Yohana, a Tanzanian international student of the “Professional Master Degree Program in Fishery” of the Ministry of Commerce majoring in fisheries development at Wuxi Fisheries College, as the main character, and tells the story of his learning experiences in Maoming, which is the capital of tilapia farming in China, and at the Yangtze River Conservation Point in Nanjing for tilapia farming technology and the concept of “Yangtze River Protection”.

On December 23, 2023, the documentary was successfully launched on CGTN, showing the outstanding foreign aid work achievements of FFRC to the world, and presenting the 45th anniversary of the establishment of FFRC and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Wuxi Fishery College. Over the years, FFRC has always adhered to the strategic layout of international global fisheries, continuously improved the level of international cooperation and exchanges, continuously enriched the connotation of foreign aid, disseminated the concept of China’s ecological civilization construction and the development model of green and low-carbon fisheries, and helped participants fully understand the importance of the “Belt and Road‘’ initiative, the Global Development Initiative and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind to the majority of developing countries, so that after returning to their home country, participants can disseminate China’s fishery technology and S&T innovation methods and serve the development of local fisheries.

In the future, FFRC will continue to disseminate the “China Fishery Plan‘’, impart the “Chinese Fishery Experience”, tell the “story of China and the world”, closely align with the eight actions of the “Belt and Road‘’ Initiative, solidly promote the high-quality development of high-level academic degree projects, and contribute to the cultivation of high-end fishery elites in developing countries.
