On November 21, the “Seminar on Regulation and Law-enforcement of Fishery Activities for the Maritime Silk Road Countries”, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, was successfully completed. Deputy Director Hu Haiyan said that the seminar focused on the supervision and law enforcement of fishery activities, which is of great significance to promoting the sustainable development of global fisheries. In the future, FFRC will fully promote policy dialogue and technical cooperation among the participating countries in the field of “regulation and law-enforcement of fishery activities”, so as to promote the sustainable development of global fisheries.

Mr. Garba Usman, Deputy Director of the Department of Fisheries, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Nigeria, delivered a speech as the representative of the participants.

29 officials from seven countries, including Cambodia, South Africa, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Thailand and Ethiopia attended this seminar.
