2016 Seminar on Fishery Development and Management for ¡°Silk Road¡± Countries Commences in FFRC




2016 Seminar on Fishery Development and Management for ¡°Silk Road¡± Countries will use a modular teaching methods, with three major modules, namely the development and management of fisheries resources, hot issues on fisheries resources, and cultural experience. The first module covers topics: the status of fisheries development in China, China¡¯s aquaculture development strategies and policies, fishery administrative system and extension system construction in China, effective development and management of fishery resources, management and practices in fine seed breeding industrialization, proliferation of fishes, healthy culture and drug management in fishery, cage culture and pen culture techniques, research and industrial development of aquatic feed, aquatic product deep-processing technology, aquaculture risk management, construction and development of fisheries cooperatives, etc.. The hot issues module involves the currently hot topics related to fishery resource enhancement, such as: aquaculture and climate change, environmental protection and ecological restoration of fisheries, aquatic biodiversity and its conservation, aquatic product safety and quality traceability system construction, etc... The cultural experience module covers China's basic conditions, Chinese traditional cultural experience, cultural exchange, community activities, economic and modern civilization shows and so on. Based on characteristics of the contents, the three modules will be carried out in a flexible way in forms of classroom lectures, production practices, study tours, group discussions and reports, etc.

The seminar also includes field visits to Suzhou city, Taizhou city, Baoying of Yangzhou city, Shanghai city, Chun¡¯an county of Zhejiang Province, and Guangdong Province to experience China¡¯s fishery enhancement, management, production, research, education, and technical practices as well as to communicate and exchange in-depth with farmers and producers, technicians, and managerial staff, so that participants would get a more objective understanding upon the practices and achievements in China¡¯s fishery enhancement and management, and exchange on potential cooperation areas between China and participating countries. Meanwhile, through getting involved in communities, visiting culture heritages and cities, participants could experience the time-honored traditional Chinese culture as well as China¡¯s achievements since its reform and opening up policy.
